Dunsborough Beach Lodge
We stayed in this hostel for one night, and I am happy that one night only. There was no space on a car park behind the building, so we had to leave the car on the street, so keep that in mind as you may pay for the parking. At the first sight the room was good but later we found lots of hair all over the place, and seeing hair on the pillow and bed sheet makes me sick. People who stay there are very lound and they don't care that others may want to sleep. It gone quiet before 1am and we woke up after 5am when the noise started again. People smoke on the balcony so we could smell it in the room. Luckliy we didn't use kitchen or toilets as we had a private one. The price for one night was quite high for its standards... The staff was very nice and friendly though.

Very nice lodge !!Comfortable and clean. Nice rooms! Perfect to stay for short or long time: I arrived there for a week and I finally stayed 6 months .. :) It feels like a big family. The owners, Cam and Julia, are just brilliant, helpful, kind and interesting! Go there without any hesitation!

Booked and paid for 2 nights and only stayed for 1. The man at the front desk explained that there is usually noise but everyone moved to the outside balcony by 10pm. This did not happen. The toilets and showers smelled and looked as though they hadn’t been properly cleaned in weeks. Limited parking spaces and seems as though the permanent residents occupy the bottom levels as their belonging are beginning to spill into the parking area. The price is the cheapest in town so you get what you pay for..

Good:+Good facilities (pool table, ping pong, large kitchen, walk-in fridge, games room with TV)+Friendly staff+ comfortable beds+ quiet and peaceful night's sleep (we travelled in the off season)Neutral:• rooms are spartan and need a faceliftBad:- men's facilities need a deep clean. Lots of stains on the walls and floor, puddles of liquid and looks like it hasn't had a proper clean in a long time. Hooks snapped off so had to put clothes on floor when showering.

The hostel is the absolute amazing hostel I've ever stayed in. I worked and stayed there for more than 6 months and it became my home in Australia and met a lot of great friends from around the world. Unlike other hostels, There are two big kitchens and a lot of stuff that you can borrow. The location is the best as you can go everywhere in 5 minutes. Cameron and Julia are such friendly, helpful people, and, most importantly, they are super chill. I can't wait to come back some day!

Great central location near the beach and town, some good facilities like the two big kitchens and nice little balcony overlooking the street. The room was relatively clean, old and chipped furniture. Our balcony door was very hard to lock so we couldn’t make use of that access point to the balcony. Messy hallways and feels a bit like a big house rather than a backpackers for travellers. For $100 a night it was a bit disappointing.

Super accommodating of last minute travellers. Absolutely lovely reception staff. We were turned away by another nearby motel who stated that they took late bookings, but when we arrived (before 8pm) then said he had turned the computer off and couldn't help us, so when the beach lodge was so happy to help us it was such a relief.

Nice and clean place to stay, when you are on trip. Very pleasant staff. Good low price. Own kettle with coffee ant tea on our room, perfect. Shared kitchen is perfect. Shared living room with tv. Laundry available.Small cons: We have listen the all, what the second room said - so ear plugs recomended. Wifi not covering all rooms, configuration is too complicated and not described anywhere. Finally I am recommending this place!

Dunsborough Beach Lodge
Friendly, brilliant location, bikes to hire very cheaply, close to town, great outside - large shaded lawn area with pizza oven, bbq, basketball pad and hoop, hammock. Beautiful beach. Messy kitchen. Full of long term residents but that makes it homely. Showers hot. Laundry easily accessible. Bit too hot on hot days - best for cooler days. Only 2 toilets and showers for women in whole hostel - so a bit under supplied wrt bathroom accessibility - just don't expect more and work around it. Kind and friendly managers. Clean sheets and towels. Kids welcomed. It's a bit crowded but cheap, cheerful and super relaxed.

Stayed here 1 night. Friendly staff, rooms were satisfactory, okay shower pressure. The noise at night though from people did not stop ALL night and it sounds as if your door is wide open!
